Joining WonderJess on the PoliSci quotes bandwagon

For the first time, I think I understood something in the rational choice spectrum. And, it's for a class! (as dar williams said, DOUBLE SCORE!)
I just finished reading an article by John Aldrich in AJPS from 1993, "Rational Choice and Turnout", and on p. 250, we have this brilliant snip of a quote...
"Therefore, we conclude the obvious; if citizens vote, they should vote for their preferred candidate. Never vote for the opponent."
OK, first, HA and second, WTF?
I've burned through 3 of the 4 articles that I have to read for next week, to be followed by a re-reading of two book chapters. Oh, and then I have to write a paper about it. But I like the material, and I understand it (yay). If I get that done tomorrow, I get to move on to my work for Wednesday, which is (yet more) reading.
Finishing up a problem set tomorrow, then sox game watching fun with Jen. I may or may not catch a lecture by the scion of conservative political thought, Mr Harvey Mansfield, on the subject of "Manliness". I just find it amusing that that is a subject for a lecture.
Of course, the fact that my mom is bringing me a new Diana Gabaldon book on Saturday (!!!!!) may cramp my style in all this. Because...yeah. Those are some good books. Much better than my work.
Alright. I have one more article to get through, and then bedtime.
