Survey - Going Abroad

So, someone on a forum I'm a member of is doing a survey for a class. I found reading the responses pretty interesting, so I figured I'd post it here. (I'm planning on passing the results on; let me know if you mind.)

1. What country are you from? Finland (Finland, Finland, the country where I want to be, eating breakfast and dinner, or just watching tv.)

2. Have you been to another country/countries?
Yes
If yes, please name the country/countries & when you visited: Sweden when I was 11 or so and again in 2007, Estonia in 2005, UK when I was twelve, Germany when I was 15 and Austria when I was 16. But London/Germany/Austria don't really count as I was with my parents and didn't get to do much anything. We visited the major tourist attractions and that's about it. I haven't traveled a lot, seriously.

3. Do you have a desire to visit another country?
Yes
If yes, please name the country/countries: Top ones: the US, Japan, and of course there are tons of others.

4. What would be the most likely purpose of your visit?
Vacation, studying.

5. Have you been to a non-English speaking country? (if English isn't your first language, have you been to a country where your first language isn't spoken?)
All mentioned.

6. If yes to #5, did you speak the language?
Yes.

7. If no to #5, would you visit a non-English speaking country? (if English isn't your first language, would you visit a country that doesn't speak your language?)
Yes. English is quite common nowadays in most places.

8. What is the greatest deterrent to your going abroad?
Time / Language Barrier / Cost / Health, Safety Concerns / Other
Company.

9. Do you have family or friends living in another country?
Only LJ friends.

10. If yes to #9, do you or do you plan to visit them?
Yes, some day.

11. Do you think experience abroad is important?
Not necessarily.

12. If you went abroad / when you go abroad, what experiences are most important to you?
Language, culture, people.

13. Do you believe the same life experiences that could happen abroad could very well happen at home?
Yes. Everywhere is basically the same, I believe, if you don't count third world countries.

14. What would be the one country you would NOT want to visit?
Many, because I'm afraid of germs and war.
