Watching the Votes Go By

Nov 06, 2012 19:17

I have the state election map for the U.S. on constant refresh, hoping and praying for Obama to win. This is so stressful. I'm Canadian, so my voice doesn't matter, but the States has a huge impact on the rest of the world, and I would rather a good President be in the White House than one who's out for himself.

People are getting annoyed with people not from America telling them how they should vote, but guess what? The United States makes every other country stop and look at them. If people didn't want there to be such close scrutiny of the choice of President, America shouldn't have defined itself as a superpower in the 20th century. People from other countries are going to judge the United States based on how this election comes out.

And for the people who are threatening to move to Canada based on the outcome of this election: I hope you enjoy universal healthcare, gun control, and gay marriage being legal across the country.
