what would booj do?

This situation happened to my sister this last week and I was kind of stumped as to how I would have handled it.

Anyways, her roommate had one of her friends who has a 3 or 4 month old baby come over to hang out. My sister offered to watch the baby so her roommate and her friend could go grab dinner. She was thinking it would be nice for the mother to get out for an hour or so. This was around 7 or 8 at night.

So I guess they didn't come back until 3 IN THE MORNING D: My sister is really experienced with childcare and the baby slept most of the time so I guess that's good. She said she tried to call her roommate over and over and over since she's the one who had a phone but she never answered so eventually she just gave up.

What the heck would you have done if someone you're sitting for didn't come back and didn't call or anything?! I can't even imagine leaving my son with someone I barely knew for that freaking long and not at least having the decency to call and explain if there was something that was going to keep me out late.

Would you have just waited it out? Called the police? How long until you call the police, if you do? Would you have confronted the mother when she returned, thinking this is obviously indicative of bad parenting? Or just let it slide...

For the record, my sister had no clue what to do so she just waited it out. When her roommate and the mom got back, the mom said they got lost somewhere out of cell reception. My sister said she acted like it was no big deal that they were gone for 6+ hours when the agreement was 1-2 TOPS.

This whole situation is so WTF to me...
