Dracula and the Wizard

I ended up napping for about 3 hours yesterday, then picked up Ashton and met Matt at the Highlands to see The Weatherman. It was good, pretty much everything I was expecting it to be. Afterward, we went to Sammy's. We missed the first reservation because, according to Matt, Ashton knew fucking everyone at the Highlands. Paraphrasing him:
"Do you know everyone here?"
"No, I don't know that guy-... oh, hey!"

But anyway, we had dinner and it was complemented perfectly by the direction of our conversation. Needless to say, it was the usual adult subject matter that I always seem to arrive upon when talking to friends. It wasn't helped by the fact that Ashton gave my a little glow-in-the-dark plastic penis pencil topper. Say that three times fast, upside down, underwater, and in Czechloslovakian. After dinner, we just hung out for a bit.

Here's the best part. When we were in Rite-Aid, Ashton looked away long enough for me to slip into the costume rack. Matt was the perfect accomplice, leading poor little Ashton who was saying "Are we off to see the wizard...-Aaugh!" It was perfect. I jumped out just at the right time and Matt brought her to just the right place. I really want to see the Rite-Aid security video.

Afterward, we went to Ashton's friend's, Briana, house to watch Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula. Holy crap, what a long movie. And not a particularly good one. Keanu Reeves is in it, so that should have been the first hint. The boy does not do a decent British accent. You can almost see Anthony Hopkins cringe in all their scenes together. And Gary Oldman, who is one of my favorite actors, overdid it a fair amount. But then again, the whole movie was overdone. Except for the werewolf bestiality scene. I finally managed to get to bed around 1:30. But it was all fun and games.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

"Was it painful for her?"
"Ja, very painful, until I cut her head off. And then I cut out her heart and burned it."

SONG OF THE DAY:
