Update

So, I've settled down into my current situation of living with Pete Dave Chris and Jack, and doing tour guides for a part time job.

I've rather enjoyed being a tour guide for the tower of Bath Abbey. I get to tell people about bellringing and the tower, learning loads about the Abbey and about bath, and telling it to curious tourists.

Its a bit sad in some ways, I make many pleasant and interesting connections with some of the tourists, only for them all to go and never to see them again.

About 1 third of the time is spent on the welcome desk. There are a few infuriating things about this job. You get a different "main welcomer" who is a vollunteer and in charge of the position. They are in charge, and you have to do what they want. The problem is that every welcomer has different ways of doing things, and its hopeless trying to memorise who does what because there are so many of them (most welcomers only do an hour or so a week on the welcome desk). This results in occasionally being told off for putting the 20p's in the wrong place, or using the wrong coins to give change.

I'm working part time, including some weekend days. Its quite infuriating in some ways, as I'm often at a loose end and no money to spend on doing anything :P I do get quite a lot of 4 day "weekends" though, so I guess its quite relaxing. I'd imagine I'd enjoy this sort of lifestyle when I get to my 60's. (Although hopefully by that point I'll have managed to find housemates (or family) that don't leave the kitchen in a tip!

I complain about my housemates, but in actual fact they are very nice people. I often play guitar hero with pete and dave, am given interesting books to read by jack and I've started playing a card game called magic with chris. people are generally very sociable and dont mind me coming into their rooms and bugging them for a bit (they sometimes do it to me too)

house, mess, boredom, work, games
