children and their books

I'm visiting fourth graders tomorrow. I hope that goes as well as my last visit. I have another kindergarten day next week, and then hopefully I'm done with schools for a while. It's not that I don't enjoy it, just, the preparation brings too much anxiety!

<3 kids. Part of the reason that I hope to get into the JET program...and I can totally relate to that stress! Speaking of which, any last minute tips for my interview (different than CIR though)? I'm getting nervous... ^ ^

I also <3 your avatar + books. Do these count toward your New Year's resolution? I've only read one book this year...

Oh of course. Everything counts! I read a ton because I'm online all day, but I like leaving a record of actual books, too. It's still early!

I hope you have a good interview! I think that as long as you are calm and act normal, it should be fine. Before mine, really the most important advice I was given by someone who was familiar with the program was that in the interview they are really trying to weed out the people who are just in it for a free vacation to Japan and some money. Impress upon your interviewers specifically why you're interested in Japan and why JET and why teaching if you know how it will fit into your life, and I think that's the best you will be able to do for yourself.

All I know about the ALT interview otherwise is that they give you a lot of possible situations and ask how you'd deal. It should be fine as long as you don't suggest like beating children or anything :///

Good luck!
