I'm visiting fourth graders tomorrow. I hope that goes as well as my last visit. I have another kindergarten day next week, and then hopefully I'm done with schools for a while. It's not that I don't enjoy it, just, the preparation brings too much anxiety!
Continuing on my children's book series, I read
Ever recently because I found it at the local library. I loved Gail Carson Levine and
Ella Enchanted is still one of my favorite books ever, but I was disappointed by this one. It isn't fleshed out at all. It irritates me that Levine makes these half-hearted moves toward creating a unique atmosphere by insisting on substituting made-up words for "mother" and "father" with no discernable purpose. She tries, but this book is nothing special at all.
I'm also reading Bernhard Schlink's
The Reader right now. Hopefully I can finish this weekend.
