I went to a free screening of this movie today! The closest I've ever come to watching a real crime movie is probably, like, Ocean's 12, so in that sense it as a lot more intense. Death! Shooting! Blood! But the action scenes are really cool and there were lots of interesting elements in the background and just all-around a very interesting and detailed movie. I think it was executed very well -- the last scene definitely made me teary.
Themes of... 男の友情 -- male friendship? Brotherhood? are so sexy. Also, Roy Cheung the long-haired gangster was very pretty. Hair like that doesn't work for everyone, but it looks so good on the people it does work for... *__*
The Freer Gallery is doing a month of Hong Kong movies! There were a lot more people there than I expected, too. I definitely want to go to next week's -- the movie looks less intense and more cute. It's
this movie. Free movie screenings open up a world of possibility for cheap things to do!
Ahh, it suddenly started pouring! @_@
