Last day of work was on Friday. Generally mellow and life-as-usual. I'm both thrilled to be done with some bullshit and devastated to be out of so many things I made and held together for over a year. Boss R offered to buy me corgis to stay :) Also they got me
a talking bunny!
I spent some time in Chicago, too, hanging out, catching up, and basking in hospital rays ... and didn't feel like I truly loved America until I walked down the food aisles at Trader Joe's. Anyway.
Orientation for my trip started yesterday, and I'll be in these lecture-meetings until the end of Tuesday. Staying at
an 18th story youth hostel with a view of Shinjuku (recommended!).
I'm starting to shed the layer of anxiety/dread/fear/sadness and look forward to what's coming up as we're hearing specifics about
our schedule.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy an internet card on the boat. I wonder how far 100 minutes will take me on a 102 day trip?
