(Admittedly old) RedHat and Fedora Core installations could not handle my wireless card, even with the not-so-gentle prodding of NDISWrapper. "What is this 'Internet' of which you speak?" they asked in cackling unison.
Last night Ubuntu and I went from zero to sweet Internet love in all of ten seconds. "Yeah," said Ubuntu, "that's a wireless card, all right. What say we surf the web together, maybe download some updates?" Now as soon as I get a chance to sit down and seek out some Linux-friendly video card drivers (so that my resolution is no longer set to 1024xASS), I will be a very happy little geek.
