In Which We Are Impatient

My new hard drive has arrived and been lovingly put into its new home. After flirting with the idea of downloading a Linux distro to install, I've opted to bum the necessary CDs off a professor on Monday instead. There is only so long I am willing to wait for ISOs to meander their way across the ether.

In other news, I have also purchased a new, shiny, eight-buttoned Mouse of the Gods that should arrive within the next few days. This will replace my current mouse, which mangles my input and either ignores or triples my left-clicks. I think it's just jealous of my sunshine-and-roses love affair with the updated Smoke theme for Firefox. Alas that my relationships with electronics are fraught with such intrigue and passion.

I also ordered RAM for my step-father. Once it arrives, I will have added or removed at least component from every computer in this house, excepting my mother's laptop, which the college tech department would kill me for touching. I mean, she snatched it away from me once in great haste after I just offered to go in and blank the admin password for her so that she could have proper access privileges. Apparently that sort of thing is frowned upon. Pfft.

In other news, I am wiped completely out from last week and still in a daze after a day of doing nothing but lounging around on the sofa with books while my mother watched a series of increasingly bad movies on TV. Now I think I should go to bed early and sleep for another twelve hours or so. Mmm. Sleep.
