Something I Did Not Want to Do Today

Jan 10, 2005 10:56

I just spent the better part of an hour thawing my pipes with a hair dryer. Apparently when I turned off the water at 4:00 a.m. before leaving town, I wasn't quite thorough enough. But I'd rather blame evil water pixies for putting it in after I was gone.

Man, it must have been frigid last night. I left the kitchen tap dripping, and I woke up to find a frozen water droplet hanging from it. Apparently it froze faster than gravity. Do not consider the logic of that statement.

All faucets are now letting out a steady trickle of both hot and cold water, and the whales can stick it in their blowholes. I'm not sure how cold it is now, since the thermostat built into my heater doesn't go below 0 degrees centigrade, but no faucet in this house will be at rest until I wake up and see at least a 4.

Anyway. Now I shall dry my hair and find food, then catch up on two weeks of LJ happenings. Do not be alarmed if necro-commenting occurs.
