Ten years later:
"Yuri! How do my homework? Have you already finished it? Watch out if I can’t get perfect score for this task. I'll tell mom so you wouldn’t get any dinner tonight!" Mika, Chinen’s step-sister, shouted from her room.
Chinen could only sigh. He was in the hallway, right in front of Mika's room. He replied back. "It is finished, there on your desk. I guarantee you'll get a perfect score."
"Good." Mika came out of her room. She observed Chinen from head to toe. "I'm always surprised. You are a guy, but once in a dress you’re very cute girl. Good thing that you're really a man, so I don’t have to feel threaten. Uh, where is your wig?" Mika pointed Chinen’s short hair.
"I would not wear it until I left the house. If it weren’t for your mother threat, I wouldn’t want to wear a girl uniform like this." Chinen glared.
"Eh, don’t you dare to threaten me! Or I told my mom not to pay your school fees anymore so you can’t go to school. What work can be obtained by a junior school graduate? As a part-time job you won’t be able to afford any school fees!"
"If it wasn’t because I need for school fees, I wouldn’t want to wear girl's clothes like this! What kind of mother tells her son to wear girl's clothing with the threat that she won’t pay for school if I’m not obey? No wonder many people say stepmother usually cruel, because I also experienced it."

Chinen release his grip and stepped back. "Soon, all your threat will no longer affect me. Only a year longer I have to act like this. After I graduated school, I’ll get out of here."
"Do you think you can live without my mother’s help? Hah, impossible! You don’t have a single yen to live! You can be like this because my mother mercy." Mika began smoothing back her mess clothes.
"I do not need your mother’s money. With a high school diploma I can get work and enough money to live. My life is my business, the hell with this family!" Chinen left Mika and returned to his room.
"It's up to you!" Mika yelled back. "But I’ll make sure you're going to suffer until we’re graduate, oh-the-perfect-princess!"
Chinen threw himself into the bed. He will survive, just one year again, he should be able to survive.
This is already 9 years he had to go on pretending and acting as girl outside home. His stepmother threatened to throw him into the street if he refuses to obey all of her orders. And the first command come from her is to pretend and act like girl. Whatever that meant, maybe she doesn’t like anyone else knew he was the son of the sole heir Chinen’s corporation so he couldn’t take over her stepmother kingdom.
After mother's death 10 years ago, his father re-married to his secretary. First time Chinen meets her, he feels odds with her behavior, but she, and her daughter, Mika, treated Chinen very well at the time, so Chinen agreed his father to marry again. But one year after their marriage, suddenly Chinen's father die, and only then hers truly face began to appear. All the power and Chinen’s family property was taken over by her. She said Chinen's father did not leave any will, so automatically Chinen didn’t get anything.
She said that she could just throw Chinen to the street, but because she felt sorry for him, she’ll take care all of his needs, with the condition that he should be a girl, especially outside home.
Little Chinen feels frightened and immediately agree. Then they moved from Osaka to Tokyo, leaving Chinen’s homeland. He doesn’t know what his stepmother done because she can change all his personal documents and registered him as a female in his new school. And this has been for 9 years, no one suspected him.
"Yuri, come quickly! Or do you want to walk to school again like yesterday?" His mother yelled from downstairs.
Chinen rushed take his wig and bag. He’s quickly going down. His school distance with home is nearly 5 km. He won’t be able to walk again like yesterday.
Chinen going straight into the car and they all left.
"Today I won’t give you pocket money. Mika told me that you're try to hurt her. Once again you do that to her, don’t expect you can continue your school again." Mrs. Chinen, her stepmother, threatened him.
Then she gave him a piece of paper. "This is your health examination paper. Give it to the class nurse when you get your regular health check today. "
Over the past 9 years Chinen never get medical examination at school. He always took a paper from a private doctor instead. Because of it no one ever feels suspicious to him.
Arriving at school Chinen and Mika began to separate. Although they are in same year, they have different class. Classes in this school are determined by the level of intelligence of their students, and Chinen is one of the elite students by level of intelligence above the average.
Suddenly someone patted his back, and the others began to pick up his bag and books.
"Our princess should not bring her own books." Replied Yuto, one of his best friend.
"Yeah, we might later get protested by all your fans, oh our queen, the senate president." Daiki, vice president of the senate continued as he began to take the bag from Yuto, who still holds Chinen’s books.
"Guys," Chinen smiled towards them. Yuto and Daiki are few people who can he called as a friend. The three of them are already famous in school by their position in senate and their friendship.
Suddenly a student facing them and give a handful of flowers to Chinen.
"Chinen Yuri, would you be my girlfriend?" Ikeda, 2nd year student, kneel down and expressed his feelings to Chinen. They are still in the class corridor, so, many students watched the event.
"Ah, sorry, but I'm one year older than you, mmm ..." Chinen paused, "Who's his name?" Chinen whispered to Daiki whose stand beside him.
"Ikeda." Daiki whispered back, answer his question.
"Ah, yes, Ikeda. Sorry, but I can’t accept your wish." Chinen answered him.
"I don’t care if you're older than me, because I love you! Please accept me." Ikeda still begged him.
Chinen sighed. He must use his usual way. He started to release his necklace and showed the pendant, the ring of jade."You see this?" Chinen hold the ring on his finger. “It is a promise ring between me and my childhood sweetheart. We were forced to split up, but he promised me that someday he'll come back and pick me up. So, sorry, I can’t accept you, because I promised him I would wait until he comes." Chinen smiled.
The girls around them began to sigh in awe. The love story of Chinen Yuri’s childhood boyfriend has become such a legend in the school. Chinen was never going out or receiving a declaration of love from anyone so far. And the rejection that all the guy who dared to propose her get is always same. Everyone is convinced that his boyfriend must be perfect so Chinen willing to wait him.
Ikeda began to stand up with a dull face. He walked away, hugging the flowers that had been going to give to Chinen.
Chinen, Yuto and Daiki walked back to their classrooms. After they sat in their places, which are near, Yuto started asked.
"I don’t believe that story still able to make their desperate and surrender. You've been used it for rejection for ... how many years, Dai chan?" Yuto asked Daiki.
"From when she still junior. You know that she had always been very popular among boys. But everyone was rejected with same reasons. Childhood sweetheart? Hahaha ...I know it's just a trick from her." Daiki started giggling.
"Well, the story of he who ordered me to be his wife and give this ring to prove it was real. I didn’t make that up. But that he was my beloved, well, that was a made up." Chinen grinned.
"Well, turned out that legend is true after all. Then, who's his name?" Daiki said.
"I forgot his name. You think I'm still remembered him? We just met once and I was 6 years old at the time. But in this ring there are initials Y.R. So it's definitely his initials." Chinen observed his ring. Clearly Y.R. etched in it.
"Why do you have to use this reason to reject all persons that in love with you? Do you really have no desire to have a boyfriend?" Yuto turn to wonder.
“I think this reason is the easiest. If I say I'm not interested, they'll continue to come after me until I give up, but it's useless. I won’t have a boyfriend until I think I'm ready." In his heart Chinen add, 'of course with a girl, because I am a man.’ He grinned.
"If you're determined, you can indeed be very stubborn." Daiki sighed.
Bell for class rang out. They all were getting ready when their teachers come with a boy following walked behind him. All the girls in the class reacted and whispering as the boy is very handsome.
"Please quiet!" The teacher started talking. "Meet your new classmates, his name is Yamada Ryosuke."
"Hi, my name is Yamada Ryosuke." Yamada bowed and smiled. All the girls in the class became hysterical heard his voice.
Chinen heard the name and it’s like stir something in his memory. Looks like he's ever met this person, Chinen thought.
And suddenly, Yamada winked at him. Chinen’s very surprised. Did he really wink to him? Daiki and Yuto are both turned to Chinen. "Do you know him, Yuri?" Ask them together. Chinen could only shake his head slowly.
"Well, Yamada, you can sit on the seat in Chinen Yuri’s left, a girl who's sitting right over there." The teacher pointed toward Chinen.
"I already know Chinen Yuri." Yamada said as he walked toward Chinen. All of student in class turned to look at Chinen, it was obvious that they were curious about what Yamada purpose is.
Yamada went to Chinen’s seat. Chinen looks confused, what will Yamada do? Suddenly, in front of everyone in the class, Yamada kissed Chinen lips, and whispered loudly enough until everyone in the class could hear.
"I'm coming to get you, my future wife." He said, smiled.
