This week I started a new job with
Concentrix. I'll be taking Tier 1 technical support calls after I finish the 3 wks of training. It pays a lot less, but at least it's an at-home position.
I did interview at various places in my area, but they were all either part-time or required driving a long distance. Now that I live in a small town and everything is walking distance, I find I don't want to drive so much anymore. I especially appreciate that I don't have to drive much in the winter or after dark.
This weekend I will be boxing up my old work equipment for shipping back. I'm technically still employed by my travel agency through this month, but the equipment for the new job has arrived and I need the desk. Shockingly, the travel agency does not want their two 21" monitors back! So, part of my severence pay is two perfectly fine flat-panel monitors, I guess. Those puppies are getting slaved to the new work computer since the new company doesn't spring for extra monitors even though they advise we'll need them.
