Subjecting things is becoming a pain.
people are horrible...
such as,
Hilter Killed a million jews and one clown.....
the common reaction is, why the clown.... this just proves that only the thing that stands out people care about. Now a days we have actually become desensitized to the holacaust because of the constant barrage of it. That is why people are so entralled by the fact that there was 1 clown. I think that this same type of thing will happed with 9/11, it has been advertized and exploited so much that people are sometimes faking their level of symphaty. I have to say, that personally, when it happened i was a bit shocked.. but because of its political exploitation im actually being disgusted with people who are "oh my god, why, why, boo hoo"
I guess this is a bit cynical of me, but this is just my position. The whole, "oh no, there are 2000 deaths in Iraq", thats just bs. I understand we are losing troops, but come on 2000. I understand families are suffering, but think of the families of WWII or the Napoleonic wars. Or better yet Medival wars. In the past whole armies wiped each other out before a base was taken or a battle was won. 100,000 troops per might have fought, and the casualities would have been 70,000 per each side. And that is just one battle. The common argument is that "Oh this is modern war, we should not be losing that many people" But i argue that people were not different in the past, losing a family member still hurt just as much. So in no way is 2000 is a big deal. Plus we should have vacated Iraq by now anyways. All that is happening is that the US is simply causing a bigger and bigger vacumme of power in there. Once the US leaves, then that pressure difference will be filled, and rapidly and devestatinly. Plus that will be blamed on the US for not doing a good job. It is a lose lose scenario. As soon as the Iraquies burnt the oil fields the US lost their only source of "spoils" in that war. It wasn't even a war anyways, the US simply just waltzed in and took control. Never was the US in any trouble in the war. Only when fighting the Imperial Guard but that was at the end and even though they put up a hell of a fight they still caved easily because of the brute force of the US's money. HOwever creating a political structure and quelling people hatred is not something that can be done with money. It can either be done with fear or love(im a machist). I suggest fear because they already hate the US so the US has to show why hating will get them no where. That or that the US is not as bad as they thought but the US is failing horridly. but my rant stops here... if you in any way interesting in discussing this with me(the war and if the current course of actions could have been prevented and the future course of actions) i would be happy to discuss w/ u
and there are just a bunch of quizzes that i found on LJ and decided to take... .why was i complelled? either case, if any interest here they are...
