The library is my new best friend :(
So far this week I have spent 18 hours there reading different Medieval/Renaissance poems, plays, and critic's essays. Ugh. The material in itself isn't terribly boring, but it's slow going with everything except the essays in Middle English. Even the essays take a while since they all reference other texts I haven't read, so understanding them isn't always the easiest. That being said, my professors are both very nice, and I learned today that I can write my essays in MLA format rather than having to learn the British version, which is nice, since that would just be another thing I would need to do.
On the whole, classes are going well, and choir is fun too. Have a bit of work before our first concert (feb 21) since I missed a few weeks of rehearsal due to me not being there, but nothing I can't get done. I also need to pick up a black dress shirt and shoes for the choir's uniform, but I'm sure I can find relatively cheap things in the local mall, which I plan to go to tomorrow.
I'm still not used to the weather here. You'd think with it being in the 40s during the day that it'd be fine, but I'm not used to the damp and wind. There has not been a day yet where it hasn't precipitated in some form, for some amount of time. Rather annoying. Hopefully once the weather gets warmer the wind won't be as harsh and the rain won't be so cold. On that note, finalizing plans for my Easter break, and really looking forward to it all! RaeChel and I are extending our stay in Paris to four nights, since my cousin and her roommate are arriving the day we were going to leave, so we're staying in order to meet up with them, and see more of the sights in Paris. We figured that there was more to see there than in Bristol :)
No photos for now, haven't really taken too many since classes have started since the novelty of the city has worn off some, and I don't have room to take my camera to class. Perhaps tomorrow I'll bring it with on my long trek to the mall.
