New Year, New ambitions.

Yeah, so I know that New Year's Resolutions are cheesy, but this year I really think I'm in need of several. Firstly, losing weight. Alright, enough. I moved up here in 2004 and have been on a steady weight gain ever since. Ok, enough already. Now that I'm 30 pounds or so over my comfort level, it's time to do something. So we joined a gym, and I've been eating better. Not dieting per se, just eating better. You know, eating less fats and oils, no junk foods. I still eat my favourite cereals and veggie burgers, etc. I just try to make a conscious effort not to indulge in foods in which I tend to eat uncontrollably after I have begun eating them. So the weight is coming off, and it's only been just a few days. Clothing fits baggier, and I don't wake up feeling bloated.

Class started today, and I have a reasonably full quarter. My schedule is as such: Nursing Class (Mult 120) from 8 am until 12:30 pm MTWTH, Bio from 2 pm until 4 pm TTH. Balancing that with swim team (www.ohiosplash.org) and workout schedules is gonna get tricky, but will prove to be rewarding. I'm not trying to do too much. Just working out 3 times a week. Linds and I have made a commitment to clean our home 30 minutes a day (each) in order to maintain sanity. Another resolution I made was that I would be better at attending all classes. It's not helpful at all that I barely attended Chemistry or Organic Chemistry and still kicked ass. I just need to forget that. :P

Nonetheless, I'm glad to be in school, and on some sort of routine. Like I said in an earlier post, Lindsey and I have spent a solid 6 months (24 hours a day) together, as we both took last quarter off. Needless to say, I'm ready to have a little of my own space.

Lindsey gets so stressed over school. I can't stand it. She's totally a type A personality. I just go with the flow, having a positive attitude, taking life as it comes. She, however, is stricken with the belief that she always seems to get the lousiest professors. I won't argue with that matter; it is rather unfortunate that we as Columbus State students register for our classes and our professors are anonymous at that point. It isn't until 1 week from the beginning of class that we find out who our professors are, and we then scramble to look them up on myspace and read the somewhat juvenile writings ("bashings") of the professors.

Well, life is good. I can't complain. So, until I know more, that is all.
