Note. People in Scotland, or maybe the UK in general, don't understand what "crispy bacon" is. Your bacon is just ham. It never gets crispy. Well-cooked ham is not crispy bacon. :P

I always chuckle when I read a recipe and it's saying something like, "cook the bacon until it's nice and crispy". Nope, it will not get crispy. More like, "cook the bacon until it has as many singes from the skillet as you can handle, then transfer floppy ham slices onto plate." Oh, and it doesn't crumble, like actual crispy bacon. If you want crumbles from this bacon, you'll have to tear off small chunks. Isn't that what crumbled bacon is, you ask? No. It's not.

But I'm not sure you guys would even like American bacon, really. Not if you're expecting slices of cooked ham.
