[And Ciel is sweeping up the fallen brightly-colored leaves on the lawn, in her front yard. What Yuki might also notice is Merem's drone going mO_Om by the window giving in to the living room. He's still a creeper no matter what happens to the world.

She seems somewhat engrossed. Do you.. really want to ask...]

[The drone gets a short glance; that is enough for Yuki to determine that Merem's status has not changed. While Ciel has qualities that perhaps make her more suitable for Haruhi's club than most, she is not, of course, of school age.

...

There is a pause before she steps forward, anyway.]

[She does have in mind to try staging another school festival like last year in a month maybe, if the SOS wants to crash that and blow it out of proportions... 8|a The ironic part there would be that she physically in fact is of school age. The body is under 18, though the mind would be more mature.

Done racking up another large pile of leaves, she'll look up and wave.]

Good afternoon, Nagato-san. [If Yuki's "stalking" was odd, she shows no indication of finding anything out of place. This is just how this girl is, after all.] Are you out for a walk?

[There is a slight nod as Yuki draws slightly closer. Though she wasn't certain herself what exactly she was doing, walking was definitely on the agenda, yes.

Her gaze will fall over the yard; she adopts a slightly quizzical expression. Leaf raking. What was the point?]

[Oh, why she's doing this?] Hmm...

Nagato-san. Did you know that kids enjoy jumping and diving into piles of fallen leaves? It takes a long time to get them neatly swept up like this, but just an instant for them to happy make a mess out of everything again. Children really like doing it. [Yes this 1. doesn't really answer the question and 2. came completely out of nowhere, but there is some relevance!!... Probably...]

[Yuki will listen to this with some measure of change in interest, given that her stare grows slightly less terrifying. Who knows if it's more or less? But she will glance back at the pile once as Ciel speaks.]

Why?

Hm, I think it's because...

Well, you know how there are plastic ball pits that kids jump into? It's sort of like that. They would probably mess with Styrofoam peanuts that fills packages, too. But this lets them play outdoors and it doesn't really do any actual harm, so it's a good thing. [How terrifying Yuki's staring is may be on par with how much sense and answering questions Ciel is really doing... maybe...]

[Yuki takes a few moments to process this.]

Children like creating messes. In their experience, it is considered 'fun'.

[She seems to be testing this statement, as if questioning its validity. 'Fun' had been thrust on her before, many times, though she had never quite gotten the idea.]

Fun is a very subjective term, Nagato-san. I actually think that a "mess" just typically occurs after a kid is done playing. If it's a natural effect, then this isn't so unusual. There's no concrete definition for the word, after all, it just means doing something that you have interest in and like. [She has tried to keep in mind that dealing with Yuki was like interacting with a computer, though it's unsure if that helped her makeshift explanation any.]

What there is interest in and what is liked are non-synonymous categorizations.

Not always, no, but if you're interested in something, it's probably not because you dislike it! ...Some people are morbidly curious, so we do have the expression "curiosity killed the cat", but I think that overall, it should be a good generalization.

Have you ever seen drone kids jump in leaf piles in Autumn, Nagato-san?

[She can think of many things she is interested in that she does not like - Being a collector of information tended to turn out that way. Regardless, Yuki shakes her head.

...Pauses.

Then corrects herself slightly.]

Non-drones have been observed doing so.

[That may be tied to the possibility/likelihood that she can't well associate a "like" for herself, maybe...?]

It's common and somewhat stereotyped behavior, so I thought that maybe the drones would be a better example. [Saying that, she glances back at the house.

Merem is still mO_Oming over there...]

Geez, his drone is really patient about this. I want to say I'm a bit surprised, but I'm not when I really think about it.
