I do not remember if I have mentioned this before on this blog - I work at an indie adult hobby store (my bosses look upon 'comic' as a dirty word, and besides the store sells so much more than just comics...); and therefore should be, as my co-worker weekly reminds me, expanding my knowledge to North American comics...  Unfortunately, my customer base is more varied and diverse that constantly recommending:  Bone and Strangers in Paradise will not help me to make the grade...  Therefore another category has been added: e) graphic novels!  And I would highly recommend Secret Identity!!!  What if the mythology of Superman had been created, and the superhero became a cultural icon before 'Superman' knew he existed?  Kurt Busiek takes an interesting premise and hits a grand slam!  Quick and fascinating take on the man in the red cape and blue tights! And I can not forget illustrator, Stuart Immonen, with his attractive and appealing drawing style!

recently read, comics in 2007, 100 bullets, whistle, superman: secret identity, manga in 2007
