White House Granny

Nov 12, 2008 10:22

On The View this morning I heard that Michelle Obama's mom has asked if she can move into the White House with them.

Now, I know that some people who read my blog don't think the First Lady is useful to our country, but I disagree, and I've been concerned that because of her devotion to her family (which is a good thing) that Michelle wouldn't step up in the way I believe that she should. Problem solved, bring Grandma along to the White House!!!  Grandma has been a primary care giver to the girls for the past two years, to leave her behind would be cruel to both the girls and Grandma.

Sort of like our SCA Queens, I firmly believe that the First Lady has a duty to her populace.  The First Lady is the patroness to the arts, she is the guardian of our country's history, she is a leader in awareness charitable giving, she is a beacon of home to those US solider's stationed abroad, and she is the symbol of hospitality to traveling dignitaries.  The First Lady's role is important to me.  I believe that her duties are great and if handled well she can make a positive and lasting contribution to our country.

So.. Michelle, from one mom to another, if your secret service web-bots are out there scanning the web, reading all of what's being said about you and the President Elect, I hope that they see this.  I didn't vote for your husband, I've had my serious doubts if you would step into what I believe the duties of a First Lady are for fear it would hurt your girlls.  This is a WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY to keep your family stablized during the interesting, exciting and historic turn that life has become for you.  Take Grandma to the White House with you, it's a god send that she wants to go and your beautiful girls will have an extra stablizing force.  They'll have the strength of family in a home that's full of staff.  Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!

Take this unique experience and make it your own, but remember that many women in America look up to those in the station that you are about to hold.  I wish you joy, and love, and I hope that you take this experience of a lifetime for all that it's worth.
