So what do you do when you're asked to give the toast at a wedding reception, but you don't see any way the bride and groom are going to make it? My sister and her fiance are a couple who is together for no good reason - they have never been a good couple, and I don't see them making much more than a year. What's more, I don't know this guy in the least! Yet I have been asked to give the toast - a very honorable distinction. Not sure what I'm going to say, or even if I can keep a straight face when I say it. I guess only time will tell. Any suggestions? I'm thinking this won't fly, "Well, here are two people with very different personalities, but they have one thing in common - their mutual hatred of each other". Eh, I don't think they'll like it. Or how 'bout this one - "I had to get piss-ass drunk to do this, not because I hate crowds, but because I could bring myself to lie to over a hundred people otherwise." I could think of some other, and I'm sure you'll be reading them soon.
Other than that it's been a slow week. I'm looking forward to spending time with Jill this weekend - we both need a friend right about now. I'm just glad I can be there for her, and vise-versa. Not sure exactly what we're going to do, but I imagine a tour of the cayuga wine trail is in order, and some good food. She offered to cook for me, and I've stories about her abilities in the kitchen, so I'm pretty psyched!
I'm also a little sad that Autumn is heading out of town for a whole week. I really hope we get a chance to chat some time over the week, but I was going to see if she wanted to check out Six Flags Darien Lake before it closed - they have this "spooktacular weekend" thing that's actually a lot of fun. But in general I love six flags and to meet someone who actually likes rollercoasters. Maybe we'll be able to check out a park at some point.
That's all I have for all you nosey people right now. Until next time :-)
