i'm getting used to being alone. that's not to say i enjoy it. but it doesn't bother me as much as it used to.

i went to pitchfork fest this weekend. alone. i saw the mountain goats, jens lekman, and devendra banhart. each of them was worth everything. i cried a few times. i giggled like a moron. i danced. i ate a lot of vegan ice cream and drank a lot of water and sweated most of it out.

whenever i get lonely, i like to read rilke's "letters to a young poet", because he says a lot of brilliant things about solitude. it's essentially my bible. if you haven't read it, you should.

Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.
