Oh, what a day.
Was it yesterday that rainfletcher said, "I dread the day she draws in one of her Beatrix Potter books"? Yes, pretty sure it was yesterday. Well, dread it no longer. Colored pencil on the endpaper of The Tale of Ginger and Pickles. An attempt to erase was removing more endpaper than pencil, so I left it.
A bit later she had a momentary loss of balance and landed flat on her back with a loud thud. Many tears (understandably). No signs of concussion so I think all is fine.
Later, I went into the bathroom, and noticed that the bag that holds Maggie's clean diaper covers was turned over on its side and partially emptied out. Picked the scattered covers up...yep, they're a bit damp. Some kitten was bad. It's fixable, of course, but that's a load of laundry I wasn't planning on doing today.
