The past couple of days, I've occasionally heard a banging, fluttering noise coming from the chimney. I presume that there's a bird crashing around in there. So do the cats.
Kind of living in fear of the day we walk in the front door and find bird shit, blood, and feathers everywhere, while Gabs poses and washes her whiskers with a satisfied expression.

Things motor along towards Kindergarten. Mags has an appointment to get her booster shots next week. Dental checkup in July. Assessment in August.
She's supposed to know her home phone number before she starts school, so this morning I had her call our main line from our second phone line. I figure if she dials the number a couple of times a day, it'll sink in after a few weeks.
And then she wanted to do more practice for school! So I had her write her full name with correct capitalization. She wanted more practice! I had her draw herself. And a house. And a cat. More! I had her do up the buttons on her one button-up shirt herself.
I've been reading old posts on the
bentolunch community to get ideas for lunch for her. Lots of creative ideas and useful suggestions, and I'm hopeful that making her lunch cute will go a long way towards getting her to eat it. Maggie watches over my shoulder and says, "dat would be a good wunch for me!"
