Colby had never been to a Cher concert before. Charlie dragged him out here to Las Vegas to see this sequin-fest, and under normal circumstances, he'd have given a firm "no." But with it being Charlie's and his six month anniversary, and Charlie practically begging, how could he resist?
Besides, he'd never seen so many drag queens in his life. This was some sight. A long way from fishing, he thought.
And anyone from his military tour wouldn't ever find out he was going to see this. Only Larry knew the specifics of this trip - so no foreseen embarrassment could originate from this.
Waiting for the show to start, he was tempted to buy a copy of "The Very Best of Cher" at the gift shop, recognizing more than just a few of the tracks. He was almost convinced when he found a t-shirt that read what's an outfit without a whip?, and he was totally sold when he saw his and his dogtags.
Maybe this show wouldn't be as bad as he imagined. Maybe he could get into the campiness of it. Possibly. For Charlie.
"If I Could Turn Back Time" just came onto the speakers. Where's my Visa card?
