8 years ago, before we moved to the UK, the wifemonster and I packed up all our stuff into about 30 boxes. Once we got a flat we shipped over about half of that. The rest, plus some furniture and things have been mostly in my parents’ basement.

Time passed.

First Fox, now Oriental City (ne Yaohan Plaza) has been bought and is to be razed and replaced with boring non-Asiany-goodness stuff. Like a hardware store and flats. Poop. So as I'm leaving London big explosion happens. Nice view from the plane. Well, at least it would have been if I'd had the window seat and the air wasn't so polluted that giant explosions are all fuzzy in the distance.

Three years ago today I moved back to London. I'm much happier here than I was in DC. It's just so much more confortable, even if I don't have as much time and energy to do the stuff I used to. Made it into work after a rather long commute, which mostly involved walking and waiting in traffic. Rather disturbed about the whole bus exploding thing. Haven't had to worry about that since the 171 in Aldwych ten years ago.
