Keeping Busy, trying not to think

Hey everyone!

Well the days leading up to christmas have been filled to the max with activities of all kinds. Perhaps the best would definately fall under the Spa World category. Spa World is just what it sounds like, a world filled with Spas. Crystal, Fei, and one of Fei's friends went with us to this wonder of the hot tub world. This months theme for girls was the eastern style baths and so we moved throughout the corridors, butt naked. Well retract that we had two tiny towels that at least for me barely tied together around my waist, and forget about my chest! It was kind of flattering because of the Jane of the Jungle skirt type look, but besides that not an experience I want to have everyday. People wear clothes for a reason...ick.

Nakedness aside the women's quarters were amazing. You stripped down in the locker room, get your towls and proceed through the intorductory showers. These jets of water get your body temperature up a little before you enter the first room with the first bath. There were many baths all a little different, some jacuzi style, others simply large fountains with steaming water. There was one with a huge tea bag in it, well not tea but some other herb, butt it felt like being in a cup of tea that is for sure. My favorite room contained the mud, though Fei really liked the salt. There were tubs outside, thank goodness we were on the sixth floor otherwise I wouldn't be sticking one naked toe out those doors! Around each pool was the wooden japanessy style flooring, and in the shower rooms where they give you all kinds of expensive shampoo to try out you squat on a little bench and have the detatchable shower head to work with. All in all the five hours we spent there for only 20 dollars was most satisfying and did wonders for my skin. Silky smooth for days after ;) Well anyway that was sunday.

Monday included a lot of running around like chickens with our heads chopped off. We were trying to get Crystal's stuff done because she is leaving tommorrow :( But we got a lot accomplished, including the transfer of Pinku, Crystal's bike into my name! Yay for pink bikes! Well afterwards we had an early christmas feast which featured my wonderful Peanut Butter Chewies for dessert. I dare say they were popular ;) Then we went out for a spot of drinking and farewell dancing. Nothing too extravagant, just a quick visitation to the local college 'watering hole'. We got back at around 4am which was pushing it a little since we had an early day ahead of us.

Today we woke at 9:30...yeah I know it is amazing how much the college student's body can withstand, and left for Kyoto. In Kyoto at inside the confines of the Toji temple there is a monthly Market. This market was filled with fun little Japanese omiyage and so I was happy. I only bought one thing, which I don't plan to share, though I now know what to get all my friends! So I can't tell you what it is here lest I give away an important secret and have to have you all killed. ;) Wouldn't want to risk that! We got back around 5pm had supper and have been watching movies. Tomorrow will be yet another early day as we escort Crystal to her Limazine Bus which will take her to the Airport. :( Things are getting really quiet in the dorms because most people have left, but soon those from Homestay will be moving in and things will livin' up a little bit. I hope. I will be trying to stay away from any and all food this christmas and any thing that requires money. So if you want to write me an e=mail expect a long response because I will have plenty of time to give it! :) I hope everyone is enjoying themselves! love you always,

Rebecca
