My Mothers Letter

Jul 30, 2004 09:37

This letter was originally pasted on the back of my leather journal, yet I feel I must add it onto my journal so that I remove it from paper forever, and so that my faithful readers (whomever they are) might further know why I wish to avoid this woman.

Dear Robert,

It's been many years since either of us has been able to trust each other, yet I'm wishing to eradicate them in hopes of starting anew.

As you undoubtedly know, I inquered as to a tea with my grandchild, "Jessica" as you've so named her. Yet as I set out teacakes and cups, I hear tale of you sweeping her to America on one of your shabby airplanes. Is this the way of the Australian, or is this the way of a prejudiced, cold-hearted son?

I need not say my dismay at hearing such news, especially since my time here on Earth is but short. The good doctor whom you snuck around my back with - the one with all the vivid lies you hold so close to your mistaken view on life - has announced me stricken with cancer. If you care even a bit, bring your daughter to England at once, and I shall spare you the humility of gossiping with my lady friends.

Sincerly,
Anne Foltrigg

P.S. Wisk your daughter, not yourself. I refuse to see you after this escapade!

And now you people can see why I was so harsh. She, to this day, believes that she was right and that I was wrong.
