Things I Did Not Know About Dorothy Day
One of my favorite people.
I have read biographies and autobiographies
and regulrly read her newspaper.
But i just learned some things today
Thanks to the Benedictine Sisters in Cottonwood, Idaho.
She considered the Beatitudes her mission statement.
She was a Benedictine Oblate (Hi, Regina!)
The Benedictines consider her a mystic.
When Pope Francis addressed the U. S. congress,
he mentioned four "exemplary Americans:"
Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King,Jr., Thomas Merton,
and Dorothy Day.
