Thanks For Nothing.

Second to last Thursday in November. That must mean it's Thanksgiving.

This has to be my favorite holiday. Any day that gives you a day off from work and celebrates with a huge portion of food and football is a pretty damn good holiday in my book. But you ever think about the basis of the holiday? Some uptight English folk with crooked hats set sail, find land that doesn't belong to them, find and kill off the inhabitants, then claim the land for themselves. And they celebrate with a feast. "Hooray! We have just eradicated the entire area of the rightful owners. Let us feast in celebration!" That's some kind of messed up. I mean, imagine, some strange people barging into your house with intents of making it their own. So they off you, claim your place, then say "Huzzah! I shall invite some friends over and dine in victory!" You'd be pretty pissed, wouldn't you? Granted you would dead, but pissed from beyond the grave. But it's the same thing.

Don't hand me the whole "Nuh uh! Squanto was nice to them!" speech. I have two theories on this so-called "Squanto" indian friend to these white faced strangers. The first one, and most likely, is that "Squanto" was just made up. They don't want to make the pilgrims seem savagely by cutting open the throats of the natives. So historians and the like put a spin on it by making up this random indian friend who welcomes these intruders onto his land with open arms. The second theory is that perhaps Squanto wasn't made up and actually helped the pilgrims out. But he had to have been a wussy indian. He didn't want to be killed, so he helped the whities out by evacuating his people and surrendering their entire crop of food to them. And again, they didn't want to make the pilgrims seem like angry white folk who took everything they wanted, so they made it seem like he was "helping them" of his own free will. Well, historians, I see through your lies!

Happy Post-Native American Slaughter Feast Day, everyone!
