I've Been Lazy

Mar 28, 2013 08:26

Sorry, I've had something to post since Sunday but I also had a paper due Tuesday, I finished the paper and was too lazy to post (even though I was done before 5pm Monday) then I had a headache after school Tuesday and I was too lazy again yesterday and now I have two points to post that would have been two posts and I've rambled on and on about nothing because I am tired now.Ever have one of those nights where you can't sleep then you finally sleep and wake up and are all "It must me almost time to get up" and it's only an hour since you fell asleep? Gar I hate those nights. Anyway, on to the relevant stuff:

I Don't know If I've ever talked about my character Fox (real name is Brandon, not getting into it now even though I love rambling and tangents) but this has to do with him because, as I promised, I am copying out of my writing journal. Just so you know I do leave out any real spoilers. And I am rambling so much here that you are going to hesitate to read any stories I write... Oh dear, I could edit this I suppose but I don't want to, this is about writing and is informal so I'm  not going to stop the rambling just trust that I don't do this in stories.

On to the relevant stuff (again):

So on Sunday my brother and I were going to get groceries because our parents are away and we live in a city and it's just economical for poor students to live at home and I'm rambling again. We were getting groceries in his truck that he was also taking in to see about battery issues. Said truck started to die before we got out of the subdivision and my brother tried to turn it around to get home but it died in the middle of the road. The other cars had to go around and so they did. I'm from a small town in the Maritimes, I expect friendly people to see we need help and stop because they would want someone to stop for them if they needed help but no, they went by. We were going to get the truck off the road and go get the car but someone finally did stop and had cables and jump started the truck (YAY and thank you person!) we barely got home because it was dying again. You'd think this was it but no, my brother gets the battery out of his truck to take in and we get in the car, which has no gas. We get gas and my brother goes to Tim's (virtual timbit if you know what Tim's is) for coffee, when they hand him his it spills soaking through all three sleeves and getting the car wet. I get him a napkin to clean it up with and my brother, instead of grumping about his bad day or complaining about his bad luck, laughs and says "I'm really lucky, the world just forgot it today"

MADE MY DAY.

I also thought, Fox would be like that, a little more from obliviousness than self assurance but I can see him saying that.

second point (also about Fox, well his story that is very early drafting and has no title) I don't remember what led to this at all but the (as of yet unnamed) princess from Fox's story (it is kind of fairytale-ish) would totally say this:

"I believe you should dress each day as if a great adventure will befall you and you won't have time to change."

Now I'm wondering about my brain, do random quotes from random characters I created just randomly pop into it? But I do like this for her, and it's in the journal when I'm not even working on this story because it is where I put all the random things I think up because I lose them otherwise.

fox, rambling, novel
