Excellent analogy on riding w/ cars by fellow blogger, etc.

Well, I'm ticking away time waiting until I can ride tomorrow. It will be in the 50s...not bad at all.

Here's a post from Eideteker on why motorcyclists are not fond of cars:

"Virtual Stuck Behind a Bus
I made an observation earlier today that I thought might enable me to explain the perceived animosity/enmity of motorcyclists against cages to someone who doesn't ride. In a constructive way. It's pretty basic, so forgive me if I've just discovered gravity (see? they even keep it on on weekends).

What's it like for a motorcyclist stuck behind a car in traffic? Well, you know how frustrating it is to be stuck behind a bus in your car? Now imagine you're surrounded by buses all day, every day. Slow, lumbering vehicles that it's hard to see around, that take up huge amounts of space, move slowly and awkwardly, make unexpected stops, etc. That's what it's like for a motorcyclist.

Now as for why I'm freezing my ass off when I could be inside a nice, warm econobox? Well, would you trade your car in for a bus? After driving your car, why would you want to spend any more time driving a gigantic omnibus everywhere you go, day in, day out? A bus that's almost always empty; you don't work for a bus company so you don't have any passengers. I mean, sure, having all that room is nice if you need it, but how often do you need it? It's cheaper to have a car and charter a bus for those rare occasions where you want to take 40 people somewhere, right?

Same deal."
