OK, let's see...Wednesday was pretty routine, I had North American Indians in which we really didn't learn much because the teacher spent most of the time talking about himself. He's a nice enough guy and obviously smart, but he is really in love with himself. So it actually might end up being an easy class because he'll talk about himself most of the time and I won't have to take notes, lol.
Since school started my classes have revolved around 3 things, Native Americans, the Cold War, and French. Seriously, 3 of my classes are practically talking about the exact same thing because American History basically begins with Columbus's discovery of the Carribbean and the natives there, North Amercan Indians is about nothing but that and we're pretty much starting at Columbus's discovery, and in World Civilizations we're at the time period around where Columbus was making his voyage. Indians, indians, indians. All damn day.
Working out has been going well, I used to run a lap and walk a lap until I'd ran a mile, but lately I've been able to run two laps at a time. OK, I'm not Michael Johnson but it's progress! Trinidad told me he got a job offer at the new rec center at UNLV which is still being built so I don't know when they plan to actually hire him. There are some
conceptual drawings at the website and it looks pretty damn spiffy. Still don't regret leaving, though. :)
I'm sorry, but I have the biggest crush on my World Civilizations teacher. He is just so damned smart and eloquent. I've realized that's my number one turn on with men: they aren't afraid to be intelligent. Anytime I meet a guy who is obviously smart and cultured I go nuts. Our society has made expressing your intelligence and being cultured a taboo. So most men (and women, for that matter) act like jackasses because they're afraid to be smart. And for me, if they have those qualities, they don't even have to be particularly attractive. I mean, both Dana and Jeff (my teacher) are not what most people would consider gorgeous, but they have those personalities that just blow everything out the window for me. Yea, can you tell I'm sexually frustrated?
Speaking of history teachers, my American History teacher is awesome. He told the most hilarious story yesterday. He was talking about how he proposed to his wife and how he flew her out to this island in Florida and proposed to her and after she said yes they were watching the sunset and he goes, "you know, this is the exact spot where Ponce de Leon was mortally wounded." HA! That is friggin' awesome. Such a history geek reaction.
Hm, well I'm sure there were other things I wanted to discuss but nothing else is striking me at the moment. Jesus god my week is so packed. Here's just a preview of what my to-do calendar looks like for just Monday:
