OMG I had a great weekend, which was what I really needed after a crappy week at work.
Work was different this past week. We had a booth at the Tunica Air Races (more about that later) and so my boss was gone just about all week. Unfortunately that also meant that I had to put up with a lot of bs. But I got thru it somehow. Anywho about the air race...
My parents came to the show to visit me on Friday. It was so nice of them. I unfortunately didnt get there till the afternoon (I was supposed to be there all day) because someone had to take care of packages that were coming from UPS and FedEx that there on their last possible receiving day (COD's), so I got screwed over. Yeah how nice of me to care enough about those damn things. If it wasnt for me they would have gone back to their vendors and we woulda been screwed. But no, no one else would stay. *argh* so that really pissed me off. I didn't want to go back on Saturday, but oh was I glad that I did (more later). Friday night my parents took me out to the super yummy Friday night seafood buffet at the Horseshoe Casino Tunica. I also went and visited my old casino coworkers. So I didnt get home till late and then had to get up early again to be at the Tunica Airport by 8:30AM. Some of the pilots to let us put our instruments in their planes so they could see what we do. So first thing we had to run around as put all the instruments in the planes for the day. Then I chilled around and such for awhile at our booth etc. John came in the afternoon and took some excellent pictures of the planes. So I hung out with him a lot as well. In the afternoon the only big thing I had to do was get the instruments out of the planes. These are WWII planes, and you know you just dont hop into them and invade the pilots area. So to get the instruments out I leaned over the edge of the cockpit. Now I have a loooooong bruise along my tummy from leaning in all those planes.. But now to the fun part...
When I was loading the instruments into the planes I said I would love to ride in one. Most of the planes didn't have the co-pilots seat in them thou. One pilot said that he would try to get a ride in the pace plane for his race. Unfortunately a photographer got the ride instead. I was soo sad! But then the guy got a pilot with a 2nd seat to fly me around after the event was over. IT WAS SOOOO MUCH FUN! I mean totally gorgeous and awesome. He even let me drive the plane (but that drive not really driving as he was still controlling the plane). He even did a roll for me. Woah that was neat. And John took a gazillion pics of me in the plane. I know I had a smile on my face for hours and hours on end. Then we got invited to the party at the casinos. Ooh free yummy food and drinks. It was a lot of fun too. I was very happy that Saturday was soo much better than the rest of the week! Hurrah! Anywho it is time to get myself to bed.
