I am sleepy, yet I am up. Im antsy really...
Last nite I was ready to go to sleep when my sister cam barging in my room. I was freaked thinkin something was really wrong, but no that wasnt the case. (Thank goodness) But yeah we were in an interesting situation. You see, my sister couldnt sleep because, well, there were kittens meowing like crazying (get this) UNDER OUR HOUSE!!! They were right underneath her bedroom in the crawlspace. They were near a vent, and so their very loud mewing really got our attention. So at 11PM Sis crawls under the house to find 4 very very young kittens and no Mommy. First of all, we have no clue how they got down there. The crawl space is sealed except for the typical air ventilation which is made of a lil rectangle and metal crossbars that no cat (especially a pregnant one) would ever get thru. The kittens couldn't have even crawled thru the vents. So we have no idea who Mommy cat is. We brought them inside and then went to the store to purchase special kitty milk and medicine droppers. Those things were HUNGRY! Oh my goodness, Lord knows when they ate last. Afterwards they crashed asleep and Sis and I started to wonder what in the world we could do. You see, there are soo many cats that have not been fixed that even animal shelters are euthanizing cats and kittens!! I cant send them to possible death, but I couldnt just take them to work eiter. So my sister took them to my parents. Our Mom is a teacher so she's out till Aug and my Dad's office is in their house. They were able to feed them about every 3-4 hours like they need to be. They dont like having one picked up without the rest. Their eyes arent even open, and until this afternoon, they still had their umbilical cords attached (but rotting). This evening we let them sleep in the sun outside, and mew some outside hoping that Mommy cat would hear them and want to take care of them. Didnt happen thou. So they went back to the parents house. Im glad that my parents are at least willing to help raise them till we can get them adopted. Im hoping they will get good homes. Actually they will cuz Im such a brat that they wont got anywhere that a good home is not a sure thing. Im also kinda hoping to at least keep them in 2 and 2 if not together. Being alone from Momma cat must be bad enough. But that isnt a worry for now. They have weeks together before they can even dream of going on their own. John took some pics of them so as soon as I have a copy, Ill post them. They are soo cute and silly looking, mostly white but their tales are striped and all of their heads have a calico/stripe pattern on the top. They look very very very alike. Mom calls them One, Two, Three, and Four. I think she's afraid to give them real names and get attached. Heh, they will be named soon, by her none-the-less. And if not by her, then Dad. They adore those kittens. Everything happens for a reason I suppose...
