what's up with all of you? email me! you gotta keep me posted on what's going on there. hmm, what's been going on here? work was incredibly boring at first, they had me doing the same monotonous task for the first week. now i don't mind boring jobs, but at least give me some variety of boring things to do, instead of just one. this week i got to do different stuff. i helped print the visas, did fingerprinting, and went out on investigation. it's not as glamorous as it sounds. on monday we went on a trip to Tema, a city an hour away, where we visited a school to check up on an applicant's documents. we just waited around for an hour for them to find the file. it was not so fun cause i forgot to bring water and got all dehydrated and felt sick. so that, along with a lot of filing, is the summary of my job here. oh yes, i have another little "job". somehow i was roped into giving english lessons to a korean lady. do i know any korean? no, of course not. i was worried that i wouldn't be able to help her at all, but she knows pretty much everything already and just wants someone to practice speaking with.
over the weekend i went with my mom and brayden to movie night at the marine house. they were playing "return of the king" (the shots of legolas made me think of you diana ;). one of the marines from last year was still around, so i got to chat with him. only one semi-cute marine to report, but they're all really nice. they're having 80's night or something this weekend so i might go. back to the movie: my other brother, austin, decided to make an appearance halfway through the movie. he marched in and "whispered" (of course loudly enough to be embarassing and disturb everyone) at my mother for not leaving him any money at the house. i wanted to walk over and smack him, but decided that would cause more of a disturbance. we had fun despite his bratty little scene. on saturday we went to a bazaar and got a bunch of cute stuff. btw, i'm still waiting for addresses from some of you, and have lost addresses from the ones who did email me, so email me them again please, or you'll get no postcard. back to the weekend commentary: on sunday we had british friends over for lunch. the son was pretty cute and had a great accent of course. too bad he's only 18 (he's still in high school people, so spare me the "he's legal!" comments). i also gave my mom her mother's day gift. 2 of my deadbeat brothers got her nothing! they weren't even remorseful about it when she got upset either, at least not remorseful enough to get off their butts and get her something. i hope my kids aren't ingrates like them. ok that's all that's going on in these parts. next installment: borden goes to a scottish dance and more tales from the american embassy visa section...
