So, how much suck can you fit into one weekend? Walk with me and see the fun.

Yup, I was stuck in the middle of that really craptackular blackout. We lost power Wednesday evening and didn't get it back until today. On top of that we were having one of the hottest heatwaves we've had in St. Louis all year. I'm talking about a heat index of 130 on Wednesday. Now, on top of what is already shaping up to be a really sucky time with no A/C let's drop many hours of cutting and hauling wood during the hottest part of the day because we have two large trees down in our yard. My dad and I had to dismember them and drag them out to the curb. Not to mention all the crap with finding generators and refilling gas tanks again, and again, and again.

Now, sucktackular labor in 100 degree weather aside, let's move on to the absolutely no power to spare because the generators are busy running important stuff like the fridge and freezer. I played a loooong game of monopoly with my mom and sister Wednesday night which wasn't all that much fun because neither of them are very good at games and neither of them do banter. Mostly it was me reminding them when their turns came up while listening to them talk continuously about people I've never met or even heard of before.

Thursday night. After 14 hours of sunny labor I collapse into bed.

Friday night. I go gaming with friends and actually have a pretty good night despite the heat but have to return home to help my father gas the generators in the morning and change the oil on one. No one said a word about this until just before I was leaving the house, which was after I'd put in about four hours of hauling wood. This sucks primarily because I normally crash at my friend's house and then we run a different game on Saturday so I don't have to drive the extra gas. Not to mention it's time I can just hang out and unwind with friends.

Saturday was similar to Friday but add that I'm getting blamed for things that aren't my fault, that I literally can't be responsible for. The game session was fun at least.

Sunday could have been worse, but it was another long day with little to do. I didn't even have any good books that I hadn't read a few bajillion times.

All-in-all my weekend was just one long slog that wouldn't end.

Okay, I'm done venting now. All I can say is I hope I get a frigging job soon so I can move out.
