So... let's start with Day 1 - shall we? ;-)
I was rather nervous the day before, always scared I might forget to pack something and such, and so I checked my suitcase like 10 times at least. And I went to bed way too late... around 11:30... my alarm went off at 4:00 a.m. the next morning and I slept like 3 hours at most.. .but I DID get some sleep, so that's good XD
Around 4:45 I left home with my dad. He offered me to bring me to the airport so I won't be late since the public transportation simply sucks where I live. There was no traffic jam whatsoever, so we got through pretty good. My father got a cup of coffee when we arrived there and we talked a little bit and then we said good-bye and I went to the "Security Check"...
I had already checked in online the day before (thanks for that possibility) and so I just had to go through that (which wasn't much of a problem. It beeped and I got checked, but since there was nothing on me, I could go through... I had to go a long way too my gate, though... It felt like I was walking for hours (maybe because I was so tired), but when I finally arrived there, I took as seat and yeah... I started getting nervous again. it didn't take long until we were allowed to board the plane and then my journey REALLY started...
I hate flying, but the flight to Dusseldorf was pretty okay, and we arrived there in time...
Still, the day started out with me being pissed off like crazy. There were 2 girls I was talking to over Facebook the weeks before the Con. Both would come with the same flight and we arranged to take a cab together once we land in Dusseldor. Only they were NOWHERE to be found... I didn't see them before the flight and I definitely didn't see them afterwards. When I got off the plane I waited in the Arrival area of the airport for half an hour, looked outside and went back in... they were nowhere... (they DID take the flight, though, so I have NO idea where they were) and so I decided to try to get on public transportation, because 30,- Euro for a ride to the convention hotel was waaaaaaay to expensive for me... I went to the information center and they told me USUALLY, I only have to take the cable car to "Rheinpark Center", but there was some kind of construction site, so I had to switch trains in between.
But at least THAT worked out pretty well...
But with all those things I arrived at the convention hotel a lot later than I expected. Not that this was a problem.
They wrote before that Check-In would start at 10 a.m. and my flight arrived at 8:45... I thought - with the cab - I would be there around 9:30 or such. In the end it was more like 11.
And from the cable car station to the Convention hotel I had to walk for like 10 or 15 minutes, so it was quite exhausting.
Still, once I arrived there, everything went smootly. There weren't many people there yet and I was able to register immediately.
But then the next thing happened.
I "pre-ordered" 8 photos, and they handed me the photo coupons in a little bag... I couldn't tell how many it were, so I went a step aside and said "I'm gonna count them" and I'm GLAD I did. Seriously. I am!
There were only 6 of them. The girl on the counter told me "I don't know, go over there to Dirk", so I went to the next table and "said Dirk" told me that I only ordered 6 pictures, 2 with David, 2 with Torrey, 1 with Mark and 1 with Jim!
No! Seriusly, NO!
I ordered 4 pictures with David.
Fortunately, I printed everything. My orders AND The confirmation of payment I got from them. This Dirk guy wasn't very friendly, though. Yes, I got my coupons in the end, but I almost started a fight with him right there. That's NOT what I call "good customer service", but anyways...
Since my friend I would stay with for the 3 days wouldn't arrive at the Convention hotel before like 4:30 p.m. I didn't know what to do with my luggage, so I asked around and one nice girl told me, I should ask at the reception of the convention hotel if they can put it somewhere. Which I did. I got a little piece of paper with a number and they told me they can keep my luggage there as long as I want. Which was GREAT! Now THAT was great customer service, because I wasn't even staying at that hotel, so yeah...
Got rid of my luggage and went back to the entrance hall for the convention where they were just about to open the dealer's room.
I waited for my friend Anna (who's from Austria too and who I've met a couple of times and who I was at the Elisabeth musical with 3 times XD) and when she arrived we decided to get some lunch in the shopping mall that was close by.
The "real action" wouldn't start until 3 p.m. anyways...
The whole program would start with David Anders' photo-Shooting at 3, so you can imagine how nervous I was that the first thing I would really do at this convention would be meeting David... Seriously, I was SO scared that he would be in a bad mood or not nice or whatsoever, but all my fears were for no reason, because David is the nicest guy on earth and so much better and sweeter than I could have ever imagined.
Anna had a photo shooting with David, too, on this day, so - fortunately - I wasn't completely alone when we started to "line up"...
We were allowed to line up at 2:45 and there were already some people there waiting... I'm not good in evaluating, but it must have been about 50 or 60 people, because my first pictures with David had the numbers 81 and 82 and the gold and Platin attendees didn't have to line up, they were moved to the front of the line immediately.
Once David started his photo shooting, it went fairly quickly, and there was my "next fear"... that I wouldn't be able to tell him what poses I want. But another causeless fear. The thing is: literally NO one asked him for anything, as far as I could tell and from the people I watched, so I wasn't sure whether it was even allowed or not, but when it was my turn and I went to him and he wanted to put his arm around me I said "Is it okay if we do a picture with you hugging me and us looking at each other?" and he was like "Oh, sure, of course" and then he put his arms around my waist and I put mine on his shoulders and he looked at me... (Damn, that was intense)... and then... nothing happened. For Several seconds. So David turned his head to the photographer saying "Just in case you haven't noticed, that's the pose and we're ready", and then he looked at me and the photographer said "Three, Two, One" and clicked - something he always does.
And that's the result:
I'm not so sure whether I like the picture or not... I look way too happy, no? XD *lol* I should learn to compose myself a little better XD
Anyways... I decided to have 2 of my 4 pictures that day, and I had to tell the person controlling the line beforehand that I had too, and David too, which I did before the first picture and once the first picture was shot, David asked "And what now?" and I said "Can you take me on your back?" and he was like "Really? Okay, I'll try"... *coughs* Yeah.. He bent down, and tried to lift me up, but it didn't work the first time... He had one leg and it took me quite some time to get the 2nd leg up... god, that was embarrassing and probably something I'll never do again XD
I think he looks a bit tortured in that picture, but somehow I like it anyways... XD
I definitely like it better than the first one... I think I look better than him on this picture :P
After the David Photoshooting "my" next "appointment" was the Jim Beaver fotoshooting. Anna didn't have a picture with Jim or anything, but we decided to drink something until I had to line up again at 3:45, and so we did, and talked a little bit and a while later I left to go to Jim's shooting. It was in the same room David's was (there were 2 rooms, a big and a small one, this was the big one), and when I arrived there - again - people had already started lining up. Must have been about the same amount because this time I was picture 80! ;-)
I have to say: I wasn't even a LITTLE nervous with Jim... maybe becaues it was "just" Jim, but when I lined up I was just like "oh my god, I wanna meet him now" and really looking forward to my picture with him.
Again, literally no one asked him for anything and people were just standing next to him, so when it was my turn and Jim put his arm around me, I was like "Can I please have a hug picture? Only if that's okay!" and he pulled me close and said "yeah, sure!" - I seriously love my picture with Jim! I think it looks awesome! :-)
He is SUCH a great guy :-)
Next program thing was e first panel - or rather, the first panel I was interested in. The first ever panel on this convention was from "Hillywood Show" - those are 2 girls who make parodys of famous movies and tv-shows like Hunger Games and Vampire Diaries and such. they are very well loved and a lot of people really adore them and think they are funny... sorry, guys, just not "my" kind of humour. They might be nice girls and might be your kind of thing, but I didn't like the videos they showed very much (Sorry!)...
When I arrived in the panel room the Panel of Hillywood show was still going on, so I just sat down in my row and listened, waiting for Trent's panel, because for that day there wasn't any photoshooting for me anymore (there were shootings with Malese Jow, Mark Ferguson and Hillywood later, but none of what I'm interested in)...
You might want to know that no one with a ticket had a "seat" - we only had a row. The panel room was parted in 4 blocks - A, B, C and D... There were huge sinds behind every block of seats to know where I had to go. I was in Row B 13 - which was seriously not bad at all. I had a good view to the stage :-)
Those are the girls from "Hillywood Show" - just in case you're interested. They are pretty popular on Youtube and have 80 million clicks on their videos or such.
After the Hillywood show left the stage Mark Ferguson came on stage explaining a few things, asking for a few things (like how to behave when we see the stars, not to bother them with asking for autographs whatsoever), and I have to say: he's such a great guy, and he definitely knows how to handle the audience. I had never seen him before and so I didn't have any opinion, but after this convention I can say: He's great, an I'd love to attend a convention with him as MoC again :-)
Next panel was finally Trent Ford. I mean, I don't even really know him, but I was sure I would be a lot more interested in him than the girls, and he was SERIOUSLY awesome. He was only in 1 episode of Vampire Diaries (I think) and he was killed fairly quickly. so anyone who can't remember him can't be blamed - he said it himself - but seriously, the guy is ADORABLE... He talked German a lot during his panel even though he doesn't really speak the language and I might have fallen in love with him a little bit that day.
by the way: My friend finally arrived shortly after Trent's panel had started. She sat down next to me and we enjoyed the panel together, and yeah, we both felt the same way. Trent is just such a lovely guy. He talked about his girlfriend and replied to all the questions with a lot of patience and there are only good things I can say about him. Such a down to earth and nice guy. I have to say a few more good tings to say about him, but those things mostly happened on saturday, so I wait and see until I post my report for Saturday XD
The adorable Trent Ford :-)
After Trent's panel there was the presentation of the "Video Contest", but since my friend was hungry and I also wanted to pick up my pictures we decided to leave the Panel room until the Opening Ceremony (which would start at 7 p.m.) and while Marie (my friend) got something to eat I went down in the Dealer's room searching for my pictures. Funny thing: I found one with David immediately, the other was like "gone"... there were SO many pictures everywhere and it took me a while to find my 2nd David picture... and yes, the one with Jim was there, too!
Afterwards I went back to the Panel room, watching the end of the video contest and waiting for Marie who came back shortly afterwards and then the opening ceremony started... :-)
Gil and his band "Acht" were at the Opening Ceremony too! Gil is a German Rock Singer. He was famous around the time I was 13 or 14 and I had a huuuuuuuuuuuuge crush on him. He was doing "pop music" back then and had pretty long hair - longer than now. But I didn't stay a fan of his or such, so I didn't know he still makes music until last year when he auditioned for the German Version of "The Voice" with his own songs and I fell in love with him all over again, so "meeting" him there at the convention, too, was such an awesome thing. His concert was on Saturday evening, so again, more to tell in the Saturday report XD
Of course all of the other stars were "invited" to the stage, too, one after another. Okay, all but Ian, Paul and Torrey. We found out right then that they hadn't arrived yet, and wouldn't be "there" (aka at the convention) before Saturday... but I seriously didn't mind much :-) (Didn't miss them XD *coughs* XD)
Gil & his Band "Acht", Hillywood Show, Mark Pellegrino & Jim Beaver
Don't ask me, because I have NO idea what happened there and why trent knelt down in front of David when David was called in. I seriously have NO idea what happened there XD
Last to come on stage was Malese Jow! Such a sweet girl! :-)
David tried to open the coffin, and Mark was like "man, do you have to touch EVERYTHING?" :D
After the opening ceremony, there was the last panel for this day - Jim Beaver's first panel. And the guy is awesome. Not that I didn't know that before - I did - but I just wanna repeat it all over again. He was awesome, he IS awesome... parts of the panel were REALLY touching. He was asked about his book he wrote, why he wrote it, what he thought, and he explained that he wrote it when his wife was diagnosed with Cancer, and that it wasn't supposed to be a book. That it was more like e-mails and letters to friends and family to let them be a part of what he and his family are going through. And he also talked about his daughter who is autistic and so this time had been pretty hard for him, especially with his wife dying of cancer and such. During him talking about that sensitive subject his eyes were shining a couple of times and he looked like he was about to cry any minute... it was REALLY, really touching but I'm admiring him for even answering all those questions about his book He could have said "I don't wanna answer that" or such, but he really did, even though it was hard for him.
On another note: when Jim started his panel he was eating gummi worms *lol* It was quite funny, because he was even asked what his favourite flavour is and he was like "They all taste the same" +lol+ Jim is a guy who can be GREAT fun, but also be very serious!
He was also asked what the most romantic scene (I think) of the show was and he was like "I don't know", running up and down" and then someone screamed "the kiss with Crowley" *lol* Well... he actually doesn't like to be adressed about that subject, but his reaction was just REALLY funny... XD
It was a great panel with Jim :-)
After the last panel ended around 9 p.m. there was a "1920 party" which would start soon so Marie and me decided to get my suitcase and bring it to Marie's car, which we did without any problems. :-)
We went back to the convention hotel and waited for the party to start, but seriously? we found it kinda lame... There wer MANY people in the "party room" - all dressed up 20's style, and it was nice to see, but there wasn't much "action"... maybe we were too early or such, but I was very tired and Marie didn't quite enjoy the party either, so we decided to leave around 10 p.m. after we drank something and looked around a bit more.
We went to her place where Marie offered me to use her wireless connection to have internet on my phone, so when I was at her place I was able to check my e-mails and Facebook and such - which was pretty awesome.
I took a shower, we ate something and becaues were were both extremely tired we decided to go to bed around 11:15. Which was a good thing, because Marie has 3 budgies and they started to make noises around 6 a.m. so yeah... the night hadn't been particularly long XD
(We decided to get up around 7:30 the next day and wanted to leave Marie's place around 9 since the first panel for Saturday would be at 10 a.m. and it would be David's... we didn't want to miss THAT of course XD)
So... that was the 1st day... more later... maybe... XD If you WANT to read more after that already long story... XD
