I noticed him on her friends list and thought, "Mark has a Livejournal?" Ah, yes. I haven't been swing dancing that long, really. Not quite a year. I've really only done so at Louis and Company tho. I know Kenny... and Chrissy... and I've met Jake once or twice. I also know a Mark, tho I'm not sure what his last name is.
Anyway! I really want to learn more lindy hop. Most of what we do at Louis and Company is east coast. A little west coast mixed in as well, but most of the younger crowd isn't as familiar with west coast (sadly!). Things are kind of up in the air in my life right now, but as soon as things settle down I'm planning on branching out from Louis and Company, learning other types of swing, and hopefully road tripping for conventions and stuff.
Where do you go to swing when you're in town? I sooo want to do more than I have been lately. And I want to learn more. And dance with people who are NOT the people I've been dancing with for almost a year now. Lol.

Sunday: Camelot II, 11th & Mass St. in Lawrence. Favorite venue. Marc M told me it was dying back in January; I went and it was fine. He said the same thing in May my one week in town; we went to Kenny's brother's party intead, so I don't know if that was true or not. $5. Snacking and socializing afterwards at Perkins westward on 23rd St, but not as far as Iowa St.Monday: Usually nothing, but sometimes one of the lindy hoppers tries and fails to get something going in a far-off suburban place.
