It's pretty quiet now, because it's used almost solely to diffuse announcements, not to discuss things, but it's got both east coasters and lindy hoppers. The home of the silent majority of KC regulars.
I am a committed lindy hopper, however, when I come home, I often hang out more at east-coaster-populated events (Camelot II is 45-45 with 10% who do ALL dances well, including ballroom), Louis's, the Jazz some weeks, etc. I like fast lindy. If it's not fast, then I like the music high-energy. KC lindy hop can get rather slow and sleepy, especially with certain DJs, so I tend to go to lindy hop events, figure out with whom I really like to dance, then beg them to show up at other events with better music and be one of the only couples out there lindy hopping! But...I'm an addict. I'll go to the slow, groovy lindy events, too. I just let those slide sooner if I can't go out every night of the week (my family wants to see me when I come home?)
