Welp... there's good news and bad news...

Paramount+ just announced that the Criminal Minds reboot is a GO. But, Matthew Gray Gubler and Daniel Henney aren't coming back, nor are cast members who left the show prior to the original series run's end (Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore). Deadline article confirms. Plus, the dreaded Erica Messer is still at the helm so... it's all gonna be case-driven implausibility and cut-jumps. And there's a weird clause in the actor contracts that allows them to wander away to do other projects like bored housecats? How does that work? I suspect this is a way to introduce new characters and give them room to move the series forward on their own.

The sum total of this info is: I'm happy people who care about this wrenched it into reality (and I'm happy both Garcia and Prentiss will ride again!), but I'm a Reid girl - if he's not in it there's not a lot of incentive for me. And since Paramount+ isn't available where I live, I doubt I'll be busting my nut to find a way to stream this when it's available.

*cue sad, mopey fan music*

criminal minds, linkity-link-link, blurgleweegsnazzer, this is why we can't have nice things, fandom
