LJ Release 98 UPDATE
Apparently, the wave of DO NOT WANT from the user base made a little dent. There are further details about the new friends page look. The good news is that the infinite scroll b.s. can be turned off and the f-page will allow for font and background image customization. The bad news is that there will be NO OPT-OUT OPTION once the beta testing is done -> everyone's f-page will revert to this new style. There will also be revisions to the free, paid, and permanent account benefits. It's basically gonna be like choosing a cable package - you'll be able to add upgrades a la carte.
I'm still not happy about this but this is indeed progress. Apparently, the Russian user base was pretty pissed off as well but their release update info was different from the North American one and caused extra confusion for those users who could speak both languages. This just proves that LJ's house is really out of order.
