In Praise of Androgyny

So, after seeing reynardin's latest post about Rick Owens, and discussing androgyny and attraction (briefly) with hearts_blood, I felt the need to seek out the lovely and frighteningly talented Tilda Swinton, who I'd switch teams for in a New York minute.

Its actually all R.'s fault as she insisted that I go and see Orlando when it was released in theaters and I immediately fell under Tilda's sway.

She often makes questionable fashion choices but is a delight to watch onscreen, equally adept at drama and comedy. She is also chameleon-like so I never know how or when she'll show up next. I mean, I get all wiggly with glee when I think of her as Gabriel from Constantine (I'll never see the angel any other way, I think), or as the still center of personal collapse that she was in The Deep End, or the creepy self-absorbed bitch in Burn After Reading. She's like a finely tuned machine that unfolds differently each time for a very specific purpose - I love it.

And, I guess that she'll always sorta remind me of Annie Lennox in her heyday...

I love the girls who look like boys who like boys who look like girls ;)
