Monday, Monday - don't get that day....

Sep 24, 2007 18:42

I re-made a chart at work today. That took 40 minutes. And then, I waited.

And waited.

And waited.

I didn't do anything the rest of the day. Apparently, no one needs Powerpoint done today.

In other news, Marcel Marceau, cliched french mime of legend died on Saturday at age 84. I hate clowns, and mimes are worse - they almost delight in pissing people off - but Marceau did some brave-ass stuff in the French Resistence during WW II and never lost his love in delighting children. Adieu, Marcel *I'm in a shrinking box, walking against the wind, just for you*

A MummyBaby Update! They may have found a MummyBaby relative living in NY. She's 94 and lived in the house when the baby was probably buried in the walls. She claims that it couldn't have been the child of the house owners (her aunt and uncle) because her aunt was barren and she spent all of her time with her, and she would have noticed a pregnancy. Other house occupants included the 94 year old's father (the house owner's brother) who moved in after his wife died - he never dated again and NEVER knocked a lady up, according to his daughter. The 94 year old believes that the baby may have been the child of her uncle's younger sister who was a divorcee and quite the favorite with local musicians (read: slut - at least that the impression that the newspaper gave to those who hang around with musicians). The girl once overheard her aunt tell this woman not to move furniture about because she was pregnant and should be careful with herself.

At any rate, the girl remembers that her aunt went crazy because her uncle had an affair with a younger woman - not because she had a baby which then died/was killed. The aunt moved to a mental hospital where she outlived both her husband of 30 years AND his mistress, who moved into the house afterwards and took it over as a rooming house when the husband died. The 94 year old moved out soon after the mistress moved in, no longer feeling welcome in the home. Talk about a SOAP OPERA! Plus, the aunt and uncle were both farm kids from BELLEVILLE, adding an extra creepy, personal layer to this story for me.

As for the baby, no cause of death could be determined. He suffered no broken bones or contusions, and had no abnormalities about him. His lungs appeared to have absorbed oxygen, meaning that he was born alive. I guess we'll never know what happened to the poor little bugger. He'll be buried in a donated grave for unclaimed babies at Park Lawn Cemetery next month. According to the report, 10 unknown babies go unclaimed in T.O. PER YEAR. I was shocked by this.

Finally: A MASSIVE YAY-GOOD-ON-YA! GOES OUT TO reynardin WHO SLAYED THE UNEMPLOYMENT DRAGON IN A PITCHED BATTLE THIS A.M. AND LANDED AN ANIMATION JOB! WHOO-HOO!!!! Way to go, sweety - it must have been the great cupcakes, veg. chili and wine that we all had last night at your place ;)
