Ouch. My head is swimming in Photoshop. I just completed a 3 hour tutorial in the damn thing, and I'll be lucky if i retain 1/3 of it. The teacher was great - she came to my house and showed me lots of things that I never would have found on my own (why do programmers feel the need to create multiple pathways to the same result? Or hide important applications in a non-intuitive way?). The program is HUGE, and since it is now formulated for web design, graphic design, fine art and photo alteration, there are large swaths of it that I may never use. Seems like a bit of a waste, really.
The good news is that my teacher thought that I had a good method of experimentation with the tools and that I didn't seem afraid of fucking up, like many of her other clients. She seems to think that if the Q2Q people are willing to teach me, I should make rapid progress. But, oh! my brain hurts.......
I also have a book, which is helpful only half of the time. She gave me a title for another one which I might pick up b/c it has better projects to complete (ie: more rl useful). I'm still completely freaked out, but that's a day ending in "y" for me, ennit?
Now, I'm off to see "The Bourne Ultimatum" with S. as a little treat. Too bad I couldn't just wake up with Photoshop knowledge embedded in my brain like Jason Bourne.....
