Space to breath . . . and write recommendations!

Nov 11, 2006 22:30

Whew. Okay, I'm feeling a little less stressed. My paper is at 1,234 words and has citations and a bibliography, so we're almost there. I feel like I'm making this tiny paper into a much bigger deal than it is, but submitting work to a new grading system is nerve-wracking.

On a completely different note, I have some recommendations for people (take 'em or leave 'em):

"My Name is Earl" (TV)
Perhaps its not nice to make fun of 'trailer trash', but Greg Garcia is so darned good at it. And he makes you love 'em too . . . well some of 'em.

"I Drew This" (Online Comic)
http://www.idrewthis.org/
Generally hilarious liberal take on politics. Hosted by a beret-wearing eagle and boasting Bush with what look like elf-ears. Also check out D.C. Simpson's other comic, "Ozy and Millie" which is updated much more and has some of the most unique, fleshed out comic-strip characters ever (in my opinion)!

"Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me . . ." (NPR News Quiz)
Also available online at NPR. Always good for a laugh. Also, a fun way to catch up on today's generally depressing news.

Dervla Murphy (Writer)
Takes amazing trips through far-flung places on one of her endearingly named bicycles (Roz, Lear, etc.) and then writes informed, fascinating books about her travels. Oh, by the way, her most recent trips were while she was in her 60s!

Okay, that's enough for now. I won't overload you all, or nobody will check anything out.

Keep the chats, comments, and e-mails coming. ( :
