Holiday in Spain!
Well, the spending of money has made it official: I'm going to Barcelona. Booked my flight and the first night's hostel today. I've never been this impulsive about a trip before!
My plan is to fly into Barcelona on the 3rd, stay the night in the city, and then hopefully take local trains in a loop along the coast and inland. I fly back to London on the 7th. It's going to be something of a whirlwind trip, but some of my best traveling has been done that way. ( :
Originally I wanted to get out of the city as fast as possible, but I got a couple guides to Spain out of the library and Barcelona is starting to look quite interesting (museums, amazing architecture, parks, nooks 'n crannies . . .). I think I may have to spend a day wandering around before heading for more natural surroundings.
If anyone has any tips (Steph?), then I'd be all ears (er . . . eyes).
Plus, despite it being a region where the official language is Catalan, I'm hoping to get a little Spanish practice.
