House January 19 2011 Season 7 Episode 9
I liked this episode - particularly House's personal moments, although the case could have been more interesting..
It's Cuddy's birthday dinner and she really needs House there. It's also Wilson's support concert, post break up and he needs some emotional help from House. So House pits both events against each other and Wilson and Cuddy concede, however House ends up having to go to Cuddy's dinner b/c they both talked to each other.
Cuddy on Stressing why said birthday dinner is important:
I need you there for two hours. Yes, you will be in hell, but I will feel better because you're there. That's what a relationship is. We average our misery.
Then during dinner just as Cuddy's mom (played by Candice Bergen) couldn't make things more uncomfortable, she passes out at her chair, Cuddy rushes over to check her vitals and turns to House:You sedated my mother??!
House: That's my gift to you.
Wilson: I can understand.... (and he starts to stumble on his words and slur them, coming to the realization that he'd been drugged too and drops head on the table)
House: That's my gift to myself.
Cuddy looks horrified and shocked.
Later House and Cuddy are doing the dishes and enjoying the silence, (Wilson and Cuddy's mom, passed out in the background). Cuddy smiles at the camera for an instant.
